Intro

Do you already know the basics of Finnish? Would you like to polish your Finnish skills after your first Finnish course?

In this course, you get to brush up your skills after the first Finnish course. The course is designed to strengthen your skills before moving on to your second Finnish course. In this course, you will revise the basic structures of Finnish, and you have a chance to improve your listening skills. The course is aimed at students who already know the very basics of Finnish. The level of the course is A1.1.

Learning objectives

After having completed this course or attained an equivalent competence level, the student
• has strengthened their basic vocabulary
• is able to use some of the most crucial structures of Finnish
• has improved their listening skills of Finnish.

• revision of basic structures
- possessive structure and partitive
- verb types
• revision of basic vocabulary
- family
- everyday life
- most common verbs
• training in listening skills
- intonation
- length of sounds

Prerequisite: Finnish Language and Culture 1 or equivalent competence (about 5 ECTS of previous Finnish studies).

This course is aimed at Finnish as a second language students, not native speakers of Finnish.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The assessment of this course is approved/failed. All the course assignments must be submitted and passed in the given time.
