Learning objectives
After completing the course, the student:
• has a well-rounded understanding of Innovative aerial services
• is able to recognize the development areas and opportunities in innovative aerial services
• can skillfully assess the appropriateness of the present initiatives of “aviation in cities” within industry stakeholders
• is able to understand and address specific challenges related to innovatice aerial services
• is able to identify the stakeholders, their purpose and roles within innovative aerial services
• is able to communicate innovative aerial services within the stakeholder groups
Contents
Innovative aerial services will take a look at the trends and potential developments mainly in the short haul electric flying (e.g. drones) as part of the logistics ecosystem. We approach the themes from strategic, operational, economic, legal and digital point of view.
The implementation will concentrate on the topics like:
Introduction to the Innovative Aerial Services ecosystem incl. Air Services and Innovative Air Mobility
The global market for Innovative Aerial Services solutions
The integration of Innovative Aerial Services with the aviation and logistics ecosystem
The strategic choices of companies - "own and operate business" vs. ”fleet operator business"
The Safety of operations (incl. regulatory progress)
The possibilities for the future
The affects to the sustainable future of aviation (environmental, social, economic)
Starting level and linkage with other courses
This course unit is part of the master's degree's curriculum. Completion of the course requires master's study entitlement.

Assessment criteria - grade 1
When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.
The student is aware about the topics of the implementation. The student is able to discuss/write about the presented topics. When applicable, the student participates the course assignments.
Assessment criteria - grade 3
The student understands of the topics of the implementation. The student is able to analyze and take part to the discussions or write about the presented topics. The student takes an active part in the contribution to the course assignments.
Assessment criteria - grade 5
The student indicates a deep and analytical approach to the topics of the studymodule. The student is able to analyze professionally in writing and/or lead the discussions about the presented topics. The course assignments follow an academical format and consist of justifications of made choices.

Same applies also to the assignments.
The instructor will use her own teaching materials (slides), books, and a variety of academic and media sources. The material and the case examples are global.
