Learning objectives

After the course the student
- is able to apply a set of fundamental design thinking methods
- has accumulated new vocabulary and teamwork skills in co-creation

Contents

The course covers the following design thinking methods: interview, persona, online ideation, scenario writing. During the course, the participants share their experiences during a mobility period abroad (exchange, internship).

The participanting students should be either currently on a student exchange or they should have done an international exchange earlier.

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

The course is structured around two rounds of workshops, which are conducted in groups of 6-8 participants:

Workshop 1 (3 hours): interview + persona (face-to-face at Pasila campus)

Workshop 2 (2 hours): a thematic online workshop, in which the participants apply ideation methods and work on writing a design scenario.

To obtain the 1 ECTS, the participating student needs to hand in:
A complete persona (after workshop 1)
A complete scenario (after workshop 2)

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

The course is graded pass/fail. Attending the two workshops and handing in the deliverables is required to obtain a grade.

Learning materials

All materials (slides and templates) will be distributed at the workshops.

Further information

The course relates to the Ready, Immerse and GO project, funded by the European Union (Erasmus+). The deliverables of the student may be used for research and development purposes in the project, upon consent granted by the student.
