Intro

Do you want to influence the company's customer satisfaction through logistics, keep costs under control and even have an impact on sustainability in the supply chain?

If you are for example a marketing, sales, accounting or sustainability expert, regardless of industry, you need to know the impact of the supply chain management in global business. After completing the course, you will master competitive advantages and environmental impacts of logistics for the company. Knowledge of supply chain management might open you doors to business to operate in international dynamic networks and be part of a sustainable supply chain.

Learning objectives

A student who has completed this course or has acquired equivalent skills is able to:

- plan basic elements of international logistics and supply chain management
- consider logistical activities´ efficiency: purchasing, elements of distribution and reverse logistics
- understand the competitive advantages of logistics and supply chain
- consider costs and customer service elements in distribution
- assess benefits and risks of outsourcing logistics services in an international environment
- apply sustainability requirements in the supply chain and consider transportation and its impact on greenhouse gazes

Assessment criteria - grade 1

When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.

To some extent, the student knows some key concepts as well as logistics and understands something about the importance of the supply chain for business operations.

Assessment criteria - grade 3

The student is fairly familiar with key concepts and logistics and understands the importance of the supply chain for business operations.

Assessment criteria - grade 5

The student is very familiar with key concepts and logistics and comprehensively understands the importance of the supply chain for business operations.

The student is able to identify problems and create development ideas.
