Learning objectives
Students who have completed this course or have acquired equivalent competence will be able to:
- Recognize the opportunities created by the entrepreneurship studies, the thesis, and the work placement offered by Haaga-Helia to boost and develop the student’s own business.
- Recognize the study, coaching, and networking opportunities offered by Haaga-Helia’s networks.
- Recognize and find internal and external entrepreneurship advising services.
- Understand the forms of financial support for entrepreneurship and for studies, as well as their interaction.
- List the entrepreneurship courses or modules of interest and their potential effect on the student’s career plan.
This course is a part of all Haaga-Helia's degrees and the student can participate in any implementation.
Contents
The course covers the following themes. Students complete assignments on these themes in Moodle.
- Expanded understanding of entrepreneurship.
- The forms of financial support for studying entrepreneurship.
- The advising services for entrepreneurship.
- Studying entrepreneurship at Haaga-Helia (incl. networks).
- Create your own summary.

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study
The course is 1 ects. It is completed independently and graded as pass/fail. The course is completed virtually in the Moodle learning platform as a NONSTOP implementation. You can start and complete the course at your own pace during the course implementation.
Recognition of prior learning (RPL) is not possible on this course.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
When the implementation type of the course is CONTACT, ONLINE or BLENDED it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25 %, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50 %, the course is failed.
The course is graded pass/fail.
In order to pass the course you must complete all required tasks with a passing grade.
This course is included in Keys to Studies and Career. In order to complete Keys to Studies and Career, you are required to complete the course Introduction to Studies (1 ects) and four other courses (4 ects) of your choice connected to Keys to Studies and Career.
