Learning objectives

The target of the course is to increase collective responsibility and sense of community so that each one of us survives this period of crisis as a individual and as a part of a community.

After having completed the course the student evaluates his/her values, view of man and his/her strengths. S/he finds meaning and hope in his life and others' lives.

The report written by the student includes following themes:
- the meaning of voluntary work in relation to student's values, view of man or strengths (find a suitable frame of reference e.g. from electronic sources)
- the effectiveness of voluntary work

1 ECTS includes 27 h of work including 3 hours of writing a report. The student may get 1 ECTS / 2 ECTS / 3 ECTS / 4 ECTS / 5 ECTS. The report will be returned to student advisor by June 10, 2020. The course will be evaluated on scale approved/failed based on student's report. Student advisor will ask further details regarding the report if needed. Photos or videos may be included in the report. Please pay attention to "customer's" privacy when taking photos or videos.

Contents

Voluntary work may be for example:

- grocery shopping
- taking care of children or helping school children with their homework
- helping elderly people
- friend activity
- creating, developing and taking into use digital solutions
- other tasks and activities from which student won't get compensation

Starting level and linkage with other courses

There are no prerequisites for the course. The state of emergency and the norms and rules caused by it must be taken into consideration so that completing the course is safe for the student and other parties. Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

The student completes the course independently. Enrollment is open until 30 April 2020. The students registers used hours and reflects the meaning of work during pandemic.
