Learning objectives

1 The student learns the major lines of history in strategic management.
2 The student's strategic thinking improves as they familiarize themselves with contemporary strategic tools and their purposes.
3 The student learns to understand theoretical discussions about growth strategies and can apply these theories to practical analysis.

Contents

The content may vary somewhat depending on the implementation. However, in all implementations, the content is specifically aimed at the aforementioned learning objectives.

Starting level and linkage with other courses

It is recommended that this is a starting course in Strategic Thinking and Management specialisation.

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

Depending on the implementation, the course may include classroom instruction, independent study, small group work, and online learning. Implementations may also involve guest lectures, company visits, and/or business projects.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). If a student has acquired the required skills, for example, through previous work experience, hobbies, or another course, they can demonstrate their competence through assessment and progress more quickly in their studies.

Assessment criteria - grade 1

- The student has a limited understanding of the major lines of history in strategic management.
- The student lacks the ability for strategic thinking. However, the student is aware of popular strategic tools and their purposes.
- The student can summarize theoretical discussions on growth strategies but struggles to apply these theories to practical analysis.

Assessment criteria - grade 3

- The student is familiar with the major lines of history in strategic management.
- The student demonstrates the ability for strategic thinking and is aware of popular strategic tools and their purposes.
- The student understands theoretical discussions on growth strategies and can to some extent apply these theories to practical analysis.

Assessment criteria - grade 5

- The student has an excellent understanding of the major lines of history in strategic management.
- The student's strategic thinking is high-level, and they are very familiar with popular strategic tools and their purposes.
- The student comprehensively understands theoretical discussions on growth strategies and can adeptly apply these theories to practical analysis.

Further information

Depending on the implementation, pre-assignment is required. More information is available in the implementation plan.

When the implementation type of the course is contact, online or blended it is required that the student is present during those teaching hours that are marked in the study schedule. If you are absent more than 25%, your grade will be lowered by one. If you are absent more than 50%, the course is failed.
