Learning objectives

A student who has completed this course or acquired equivalent skills is able to:
• Implement digital service ideation, design, prototyping, and testing according to the Google Design Sprint model
• Produce a digital service prototype for a client in five days
• Utilize co-creation platforms that enhance team's efficiency
• Act as a self-directed and proactive member of a Design Sprint team

Contents

This course covers basic concepts, stages, and methods of the Google Design Sprint process, the development of digital service prototype, as well as collaboration tools and techniques that support the process.

Starting level and linkage with other courses

Design Sprint Days is open to all students who have completed at least 70 ECTS credits.

Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study

Learning outcomes of this course can be achieved through various methods, such as 1) contact teaching and related assignments, 2) participation in a workplace project or other project, or 3) learning in one's own job (work-based learning).

The course follows the prior learning recognition procedure (AHOT) in accordance with the instructions provided separately.

Assessment criteria - grade 1

The student knows basic concepts and methods of the Google Design Sprint process and understands the concept of rapid service development. The student knows how to implement solution ideation, design, prototyping, and testing using the Design Sprint process. The student knows how to use the methods in a client project. The student knows how to act as a member of a Design Sprint team.

Assessment criteria - grade 3

The student has a good command of key concepts, stages, and methods of the Google Design Sprint process. The student understands the key benefits of rapid service development. The student is able to utilize the methods of the Design Sprint process for solution ideation and design, as well as solution prototyping and testing in a client project. Additionally, the student is able to actively participate as a member of a Design Sprint team.

Assessment criteria - grade 5

The student has an excellent command of key concepts, stages, and methods of the Google Design Sprint process. The student is able to independently deepen his/her understanding of the methods. The student understands the benefits of rapid prototyping and the significance of design sprints in the context of business development. The student is able to effectively and excellently utilize the methods of the Design Sprint process for solution ideation and design, as well as solution prototyping and testing, in close collaboration with the client. Additionally, the student is able to act proactively and innovatively as a member of a Design Sprint team.

Assessment criteria, approved/failed

A passed course is graded on a scale of 1-5.

Industry Connections: Rapid prototyping of new solutions before investing in their implementation is now a requirement for the success of omni-channel services. This course implements a one-week Design Sprint process for a client.

Internationalization: This course utilizes the Design Sprint process and methods developed by an internationally notable company. Moreover, internationally well-known prototyping tools are used.
