Upon completion of the course, the student is able to
- Understand and describe Social Media Marketing as a strategic tool in today’s international business environment
- Apply social media marketing theories and new technics like the use of virtual reality to practical marketing campaigns
- Understand how companies can use and leverage most important social media sites like Instagram, YouTube, Meta (Facebook), TikTok, Twitter.
- Identify and leverage the latest social media trends.
- Understand how social media algorithms work.

The course has no special starting requirement.
Implementation methods, demonstration and Work&Study
The course consists of virtual learning (online videos) and independent work.
100% virtual course and students are recommended to create their own study plan in order to complete the course effectively.
Assessment criteria - grade 1
Has basic knowledge of social media in modern business
Knows basic concepts of Instagram marketing and marketing in other social platforms
Is able to present the key aspects of social media marketing
Assessment criteria - grade 3
Student in addition:
Has a good knowledge of concepts and principles of social media.
Is familiar with the main benefits and disadvantages of social media.
Has good skills in using different social media tools and services.
Has a good general understanding of how to analyze the performance of other companies in social media sites.
Can do a good social media marketing plan (final work for this course).
Assessment criteria - grade 5
Student in addition:
Can demonstrate explicit knowledge of creating effective plan of how to use social media marketing.
Can create effective content in different social media platforms that creates value for companies.
Is very familiar with the main concepts of how to create paid social media campaign.
Has created very complete and valuable paid social media marketing plan (finalwork)
Has reinforced learning by reading information related to the topic in different websites.
Assessment criteria, approved/failed
Course assessment (1-5) is based on:
• Self assessment students complete at the end of the course
• Quizzes student complete and the end of each topic (5 in total)
• Social media plan that student will create at the end of the course
